Role Reports To: VP of Engineering

Position Snapshot

The Development Engineer will support technical aspects of the development, engineering, procurement, construction, and M&A activities in the US. The Development Engineer will perform technical due diligence on existing and proposed solar, energy storage, and wind projects; support permitting and preliminary design during early development; and coordinate with corporate technical resources to execute work.

  • Lead technical assessments for solar PV, wind, and energy storage projects
  • Support project acquisitions with constraint analysis, constructability reviews, and due diligence
  • Review site studies (Geotech, Hydrology, Environmental) for fatal flaws
  • Collaborate across teams on land acquisition, permitting, procurement, and interconnection
  • Prepare capital estimates and support financing, energy offtake, and M&A discussion
  • Drive engineering timelines and ensure projects stay on track and within budget
  • Conduct site visits and engage with local stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of renewable energy trends and technologies

 

Minimal Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ in utility-scale renewables
  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of solar and storage design processes (10%/30%/60% IFC)
  • PE license or eligibility preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and independent work skill
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and PV design tools

Compensation & Benefits

The salary for this position typically ranges from the minimum to the mid-point annually, based on experience and qualifications.
