Your Role
As Head of Grid - Germany (f/m/x), you will play a pivotal role in Zelestra’s growth and success within the country. From the conceptual phase through to operational readiness, you will oversee grid connection activities for our solar, wind, and BESS projects. Working within a dedicated small team, you will help set the strategic direction for scaling up our business in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Lead grid connection efforts across all project phases— from initial concept to operational commissioning.
- Design and engineer grid connection solutions for utility-scale PV, wind, and BESS projects.
- Support project development and M&A teams with technical and commercial expertise during early project stages.
- Qualify and manage external engineering consultants.
- Specify and coordinate technical and commercial aspects of tendering interconnection infrastructure (power transformers, substations, AIS/GIS switchgears, cable routes, overhead lines) with subcontractors.
- Oversee subcontractors during design and construction phases in collaboration with on-site teams.
- Prepare and manage documentation for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Engage with utilities and stakeholders for technical discussions and negotiations.
- Coordinate with third-party technical advisors as needed.
Job Requirements
- Academic degree in electrical engineering, renewable energies, or a related field with a focus on energy technology.
- Proven experience in grid connection of power plants at medium to extra-high voltage levels within Germany.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with grid compliance studies and simulation software (PowerFactory or PSS/E) is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex stakeholder environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and a strong solution-oriented approach
- Independent worker capable of managing responsibilities proactively.
- Positive “can-do” attitude coupled with enthusiasm for continuous learning.
- Business fluency in German and English.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Passionate about leading the transition toward a clean energy future.
