Remote Operations Center Analyst (Santiago)

Mission
The mission of the Analyst for the Remote Operation Center (SCADA) is to provide comprehensive analytical support for the monitoring, performance optimization, and reporting of renewable energy assets across Chile, Peru, and Colombia. By leveraging SCADA data and operational insights, the analyst ensures that the energy generation processes operate at peak efficiency while adhering to regulatory and safety standards. Ensure the continuity of remote operations and the relationships between the different external teams (Grid Operator, etc.) and internal teams (O&M, AMS, EPC, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor real-time data from the SCADA systems for wind, solar, and hydroelectric plants across Chile, Peru, and Colombia.
- Analyze plant performance metrics such as availability, production efficiency, and response times to detect inefficiencies or operational anomalies.
- Engagement with system operators and regulatory authorities regarding aspects of the electricity market in the countries where the projects are managed
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for internal and external teams and management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggesting areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development of predictive maintenance strategies by analyzing historical data to identify patterns and trends.
- Track and analyze alarms from the SCADA system, identifying recurrent issues and proposing solutions to reduce downtime.
- Document alarm histories and resolutions to improve response strategies for future incidents.
- Ensure that all incidents to be reported to the grid operator are submitted in a timely and proper manner.
- To comply with the operational and dispatch information requirements at the national level.
- Collaborate with SCADA engineers and field O&M teams to provide actionable insights based on data analysis and support troubleshooting efforts.
- Assist in the remote dispatch of operational tasks and ensure the timely execution of field interventions.
- Support the generation of compliance reports for local regulatory authorities in Chile, Peru, and Colombia, ensuring alignment with grid codes and environmental standards.
- Maintain data integrity for audits and regulatory inspections.
- Assist in SCADA system configuration updates and optimization efforts based on performance data.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and process optimization across the ROC.
- Support to the Asset Management teams as well as to the On-Site Plant Control Rooms, where applicable.
- Others required for the direct manager or regarding the regulated country.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy, electronic engineering, Data Science, or related fields
- 2-3 years of experience in technical support or SCADA analysis or renewable energy or computer science or control systems, or data analytics in the energy or industrial sector.
- Experience in renewable energy operations (solar, wind, or hydroelectric) is preferred.
- Experience in ensuring regulatory compliance for both operational and dispatch requirements
- Availability to work in a shift system.
