Role Overview

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will support the Head of Tax & Accounting in managing all aspects of US federal, state, direct, and indirect tax compliance.  You will also be responsible for the tax provision and effective monetization of tax credits across the Company’s projects, contributing to the increase in the value of Zelestra.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field
• Master's in Taxation, JD, and/or LL.M. strongly preferred
• CPA or actively pursuing
• 7-10 years progressive corporate tax experience
• Solid understanding of tax equity and HLBV
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to identify tax optimization/monetization opportunities
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to present complex tax matters clearly and concisely
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Highest level of personal and professional integrity.
• Proven attention to detail, organizational discipline, and critical thinking
• Self-starter with strong time management and leadership presence

Role Responsibility

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal and state income tax returns, property tax returns, sales & use tax returns, etc.
• Support the Company strategy in collaboration with legal, finance and business development teams on tax strategy for energy project acquisitions
• Evaluate tax implications of all tax equity transactions (e.g., terms, step-up basis, tax credits, etc.)
• Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax modelling and compliance issues
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations and model any relevant changes and their impact on the Company
• Preparation of comprehensive research and technical memorandums as applicable
• Support the development and implementation of comprehensive cash tax and effective tax rate (ETR) planning strategies and assisting with tax attribute planning and monetization initiatives
