Responsibilities

Do you want to do more than just observe the energy transition in Germany - do you want to play an active role in shaping it? At Zelestra, you´ll work in projects that drive the expansion if solar, wind and storage - and see first-hand how your analyses influence real-world investment decisions. 

Under the guidance of our Director M&A and Investments, you´ll support our team in analyzing potential M&A opportunities, conducting due diligence, and assisting in executing our M&A strategy. We are looking for a personality who is curious, keen on the electricity market, and not afraid to try new things and learn. 

 

Your responsibilities

  • Support the M&A team accross the deal cycle (NBO to closing) for acquisitions of Wind, PV+BESS and BESS assets in Germany.
  • Support due diligence processes, including data room organization, tracking of workstreams, and consolidation of advisor inputs (financial, technical, legal, tax). 
  • Assist in maintaining deal-tracking tools and internal databases.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the M&A teams as needed. Assist in maintaining, and sensitizing financial and valuation models (DCF, project finance, cash flow analysis).
  • Prepare and structure data for investment analyses, business cases, and portfolio valuations.
  • Help create clear, senior-management-ready presentations and investment memos in PowerPoint.
  • Conduct market, regulatory, and competitor research on the German renewables landscape (e.g. EEG, capacity market, BESS revenue streams) and translate findings into concise insights.

Job Requirements

  • Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, with strong academic performance.
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are required, including the ability to build and work with financial models and create clear presentations.
  • Solid understanding of financial modelling and valuation principles (e.g. DCF, project finance, cash flow analysis).
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured way of thinking, with the ability to translate data into clear insights.
  • Strong interest in investments, M&A, and renewable energy markets (PV, Wind, BESS).
  • Previous internships in finance, M&A, project finance, consulting, or a related field are a plus.
  • High level of motivation, reliability, and attention to detail, with a proactive and hands-on mindset.
  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
