Environmental Technician (Babilonia)

Mission
At Zelestra, we are looking for a Field Environmental Technician to join the EPC environmental team of an important photovoltaic project located in La Joya, Arequipa.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate compliance with the environmental management system at the project.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and control of the environmental plan.
- Ensure compliance with current legal and regulatory provisions, internal project standards, and work procedures.
- Report all accidents occurring at the project, participate in and advise during accident investigations, and supervise corrective and closure measures.
- Execute the budget of the project’s environmental plan.
- Manage, maintain, and safeguard the project’s environmental records and files.
- Coordinate and hold regular meetings with environmental technicians from contractor companies.
- Attend internal follow-up meetings and meetings with the client.
- Carry out inspections, observations, trainings, inductions, and all activities included in the Environmental Plan.
- Generate non-conformities related to the area, report their issuance, and monitor their closure.
- Develop and indicate work procedures and instructions.
- Conduct document reviews of contractor companies to verify compliance with environmental legal requirements.
- Prepare the Emergency Plan and organize drills.
- Prepare monthly environmental reports to be submitted to the Environmental Coordinator.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Title in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Biology, Law, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in roles with similar responsibilities in the energy, mining, and/or hydrocarbons sectors.
- Demonstrated fieldwork experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and budget preparation.
- Knowledge of Power BI and Project is an advantage.
- Experience with and management of geographic information systems.
- Valid A-I driver’s license.
- Residence in Arequipa or availability to live in the area during the development of the project.
