Interconnection Site Manager Perú (Babilonia Project)

Mission
At Zelestra, we are looking for an Interconnection Construction Manager to join the construction phase of the interconnection infrastructure for a photovoltaic project in La Joya (Arequipa). The main mission of this role will be to coordinate and lead the technical, administrative, and contractual management of the construction of the interconnection infrastructure, and to support the process of connecting the plant to the Interconnected System of Peru and Minera Cerro Verde in La Joya, supervising both internal personnel and contractors, in coordination and communication with other disciplines, authorities, and external stakeholders. All of the above is aimed at ensuring the construction of the asset and its commissioning for the connection of the plant to the system within the established deadlines, in accordance with current Peruvian legislation, the technical regulations and parameters defined by COES and the National Energy Commission, while safeguarding Zelestra’s standards for people and asset safety, quality, environment, and internal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the EPC contract management with the company responsible for the works, as well as with external suppliers and contractor companies providing services, ensuring that the actions, deliverables, and services offered comply with the commitments and standards established in the contract, in terms of time and quality.
- Coordinate progress and priorities during execution in alignment with other areas, in order to optimize both the process and the use of time and resources.
- Lead the specialty team, supervising the progress of their work, providing timely feedback on the progress and performance of each team member, and supporting supervisors so they can enhance their performance and contribution to the team.
- Maintain a systematic record of the progress of the work carried out in the area and prepare production and performance reports.
- Monitor the execution of works by the EPC company, identifying deviations and intervening in the timely resolution of any issues that may arise.
- Lead the area’s response to unforeseen events, deviations, and contingencies, in coordination with other areas.
- Assess the progress of the area management plan and raise alerts in the event of delays or potential risks to compliance with the schedule, in terms of deadlines, costs, and/or resource management.
- Verify inventories of materials, supplies, and equipment for the discipline, reporting shortages and/or requirements to the responsible area in a timely manner, in order to ensure that the area has the resources necessary for the progress of the works.
- Provide technical advice to other areas regarding the interconnection process.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during the execution of the works.
- Maintain communication with the contact person defined by the Company and/or with the competent national Authority, providing timely, assertive, and clear updates on the progress of the works.
- Respond to requests related to the interconnection process, preparing the required documentation and reports within the established deadlines.
- Follow the schedule and request work authorizations for the interconnection process from the corresponding entity, in accordance with the established deadlines and standards.
- Support the review of possible changes in current regulations and legislation that may impact the interconnection process, informing and advising the SPV Project Management in a timely manner in order to provide feedback to the work plan.
Job Requirements
- Professional degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in roles related to Interconnection in companies in the electrical sector, preferably in renewable energy companies.
- 3 years of experience in similar roles in the construction of substations and high-voltage transmission lines.
- Experience in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects will be valued.
- Intermediate English.
- Valid Class A-1 driver’s license.
