Mission
Comprehensively manage the portfolio of bank guarantees and surety bonds associated with the projects of the Spain Business Unit, ensuring the proper issuance, monitoring, and cancellation of the financial guarantees required for the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects.
This role is critical to enabling key business milestones, including obtaining interconnection permits, advancing projects to Notice to Proceed (NTP), complying with regulatory and tax obligations, and formalizing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), while optimizing the financial impact of guarantees on the company.
Responsibilities
- Manage the portfolio of bank guarantees and surety bonds, including the issuance, monitoring, renewal, and cancellation of guarantees provided by banks and insurance companies related to BU projects.
- Issue regulatory and development guarantees required to secure key pipeline milestones, including:

- Interconnection guarantees for projects.
- Guarantees associated with energy storage projects (BESS).
- Guarantees related to land development managed by Business Development.
- Manage guarantees in commercial contracts, including guarantees required in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) by offtakers.
- Coordinate with financial institutions and insurance companies to structure guarantees that are cost- and time-efficient, optimizing the use of available guarantee lines.
- Monitor and control the financial impact of guarantees, including associated costs, tax implications, and their impact on key financial metrics such as EBITDA.
- Manage tax guarantees and guarantees related to tax obligations, including issuing guarantees for tax deferrals or payment extensions when necessary.
- Control the life cycle of guarantees, ensuring:

- recovery of guarantees once obligations have been fulfilled
- cancellation or replacement of guarantees
- maintenance of an up-to-date guarantee register.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Business Development, Legal, Tax, Asset Management, and Finance teams to ensure guarantees are issued on time and aligned with project milestones.
- Provide reporting and internal control of the guarantee portfolio, ensuring visibility over:

- financial exposure
- maturities and future requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in trade finance, treasury, bank guarantees, or project finance.
- Experience managing bank guarantees, financial guarantees, or surety bonds.
- Experience in infrastructure, energy, or project finance is a plus.
- Strong ability to coordinate cross-functionally with business and finance teams.
- Strong analytical and financial control skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong business orientation with focus on regulatory milestone delivery.

- Guarantees issued within the required timelines for project milestones (interconnection, NTP, PPAs).
- Optimization of the financial cost of the guarantee portfolio.
- Reduction of unnecessarily retained guarantees through efficient recovery and cancellation.
- Full control and visibility of the BU’s guarantee portfolio
