Mission
The Cash Management & Trade Finance Senior Expert within the Business Unit will ensure that the BU has sufficient liquidity and the appropriate financing instruments to support daily operations and long-term projects.
The role covers daily cash management, medium- and long-term liquidity planning, and full responsibility for trade finance activities, including the management of guarantees, letters of credit, and the design of financing solutions.
The expert will act as the primary contact with Group Treasury to secure funding efficiently for the BU and to ensure sufficient credit and guarantee lines to support the BU’s growth. In addition, this role provides administrative support for general accounting and the billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, supporting accounts payable and receivable processes, and maintaining proper accounting records.
The expert will collaborate closely with the Development Team and operational departments regarding supplier relationships, cost allocation, and administrative support for all project-related financial transactions.
Responsibilities
Cash Management and controlling
- Monitor and optimize s/t cash flow ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Optimize liquidity (short-term investments, deposits)
- Prepare short-, medium- and long-term cash flow forecasts
- Execute BU payments and follow collections
- Bank account management: account opening (including KYC and documentation), ongoing administration, and process automation to ensure efficiency and compliance
- Maintain and develop local relationships with banks and other financial institutions to facilitate smooth cash management and trade finance operations.
- Generate comprehensive liquidity and treasury reports for Corporate and senior management
- Work closely with Corporate treasury and the rest of finance, accounting, FPM and other operation teams to ensure alignment.
Trade Finance
- Structure and manage letters of credit and bank guarantees
- Negotiate with banks to secure competitive trade finance conditions
- Design and implement project Capex financing solutions aimed at optimizing the BU’s cash flow and contributing to Zelestra’s overall liquidity position. Non-recourse to Parent Company
- Mitigate counterparty and country risks through appropriate financial instruments
- Forecast and monitor utilization of guarantee lines with banks and insurers to ensure sufficient capacity for upcoming projects
General Administration and Billing Cycle
- Manage the accounts payable cycle: receive, review, and record supplier invoices.
- Collaborate with the Development Team and operational departments to ensure correct cost allocation and handle any contract or billing discrepancies with suppliers.
- Support accounts receivable processes and coordination with Finance for invoice reconciliation.
- Assist in monthly accounting processes, bank reconciliations, and ensure alignment with treasury data.
- Maintain supplier relationships and ensure effective communication and timely resolution of disputes.
- Support process improvements and automation for administrative and accounting workflows.
Financial risk and Insurance
- Mitigate currency, interest rate (could be Project Finance) and credit risks through appropriate financial instruments
Insurance
- Manage insurance administration for projects and contracts, including policy issuance, filing, renewals, and certificates.
- Coordinate payments and invoicing, ensuring timely settlement and resolving incidents.
- Act as local contact with brokers, insurers, and internal departments for queries, claims, and documentation flow.
- Monitor expiries, maintain updated asset inventories, and support project submissions to brokers.
- Prepare regular reports on policies, claims, and payments for corporate monitoring.
Tools and processes

- Apply and comply with the processes and tools defined by Corporate Treasury, ensuring consistency across the Group.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability in all treasury and trade finance operations.
- Use SAP Treasury and Trade Finance modules to automate and streamline processes.
- Guarantee full integration with accounting, controlling, and reporting systems.
- Support the implementation of best practices in treasury reporting and financing processes.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
Technical and Soft Skills
- Native in Italian is required.
- Advanced level of English (minimum C1 level, written and spoken) is required.
- Proficiency in Spanish at a professional level is considered a plus.
- Proficiency in SAP Treasury/SAC and other advanced financial tools. (is a plus)
- Deep understanding of liquidity management, forecasting techniques, and financial risk management.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience reporting to senior leadership.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive mindset, initiative, and ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
Previous Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in treasury, financial planning, or corporate finance roles, preferably within multinational organizations.
- Proven expertise in SAP Treasury modules and advanced financial systems.
- Strong background in cash management, liquidity forecasting, and trade finance
- Knowledge in Financial Risks and Insurance highly valuable
- Experience in general administration, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier management is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with Development or Project teams on supplier relations and administrative support is highly desirable.
