Mission

We are looking for a Market Operations Senior Manager to join the commercial team, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the Italy Business Unit. The role will be responsible for leading and optimizing market operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring seamless execution across commercial and operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Interlocution with market, Route to Market agents (RtM, Utente di Dispacciamento) and dispatch/control centers.
  • Negotiation, execution and management of RtM contracts for the physical sale of energy when required.
  • Optimization of short-term operations either through forecasting/balancing management, ancillary services participation or any other, either directly or through market representatives.
  • Monitoring of short-term market operations performance, and internal/external lead and coordination to improve performance.
  • Management of energy sales contracts (PPA) and clients obligations. Mapping, scheduling and monitoring compliance with obligations (e.g. reporting, regulatory, guarantees, etc.), and coordination with internal departments for their implementation.
  • Lead and collaborate in budgeting energy and attribute sales, creating monthly sales reports and reporting to internal stakeholders. Controlling estimates of energy and attribute sales.
  • Settlement of energy sales contracts and other attributes in coordination with the Administration department; monitoring of collection and/or payment through the Administration department.
  • Short- term financial hedge execution (if required), valuation and sale of renewable attributes (ERNC, GDOs, CERs, etc.). Renewable attributes management based on contracted volumes and obligations (e.g. issuance, deliveries).
  • Active monitoring of changes in electricity market regulations in the regions where the projects are located.
  • Preparation of recurring or ad-hoc reports, related to energy sales made by the company and energy markets.

Job Requirements

  • University degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of +10 years of experience in in energy management positions, preferably in renewable energy or utilities.
  • Proven commercial experience in renewable energy markets, with particular emphasis on BESS and tolling agreements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Italian energy market mechanisms and regulations.
  • Experience in dispatchable assets, with the ability to assess operational flexibility and optionality in valuation and dispatch strategies, is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and results-oriented environment.
  • Native Italian. Advanced English (spoken and written). Spanish is a plus.
