Mission

The Execution Project and Proposal Engineer supports the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects within an IPP, from early-stage development and proposal preparation through project execution, commissioning, and handover to operations.

The role ensures technical and economic feasibility, effective risk management, and the successful delivery of projects in line with budget, schedule, quality, and HSE requirements, acting as a key interface between development, engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and operations.

 

Responsibilities

Proposal Engineering & Development Support

  • Conduct technical assessments for solar PV, BESS, and hybrid projects during development.
  • Define preliminary technical solutions, plant layouts, and technology selection.
  • Prepare technical/commercial proposals including CAPEX/OPEX estimates, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Support business planning, financial modelling, permitting, and technical due diligence.
  • Liaise with EPC contractors and technology suppliers for technical and commercial inputs.

Project Management – Execution Phase

  • Manage projects from NTP to COD, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, quality, and performance targets.
  • Coordinate EPC contractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal stakeholders across all project phases.
  • Oversee interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, grid connection, and commissioning.
  • Monitor project progress, implement corrective actions, and supervise commissioning and handover to O&M.

Contract & Risk Management

  • Support negotiation and management of EPC, BoP, and major equipment supply contracts.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, guarantees, milestones, and liquidated damages.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and financial risks, including claims and variations management.

HSE, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, corporate policies, local regulations, and grid/permitting requirements.
  • Supervise implementation of QA/QC plans and technical compliance throughout project execution.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide clear project reporting to management, investors, lenders, and technical advisors.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation measures to internal and external stakeholders, including TSOs/DSOs and regulatory bodies.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or related Engineering disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering companies performing similar functions in the renewable energy sector
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind, BESS).
  • Understanding of EPC execution models, BoP scope, and grid connection processes.
  • Ability to review and interpret technical, contractual, and regulatory documentation.

Project Management Skills

  • Proven experience in managing capital-intensive infrastructure projects.
  • Strong planning, cost control, and risk management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, or equivalent).

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making mindset.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in an international and fast-paced environment.
