SAP Integration & Applications Specialist

Date:  May 21, 2026
Company:  Zelestra

Location

San Jose, Costa Rica

Mission

We are looking for an SAP Integration & Applications Specialist to be the technical lead for Zelestra's corporate applications ecosystem. The selected candidate will combine deep technical expertise in SAP BTP and Integration Suite with hands-on operational work: designing and maintaining integrations across S/4HANA Public Cloud, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and Concur; managing identities with Azure AD/IAS; and ensuring the stability of the production environment day to day.

The role has two dimensions: technical integration and architecture, and operational support. This is not just about designing how systems should work — it's about making sure they work well every day and that changes are managed with a solid methodology.

ERP Core SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud
Procurement   SAP Ariba (Sourcing, Buying, Supplier Lifecycle)
HCM   SAP SuccessFactors
T&E   SAP Concur
Platform   SAP BTP, SAP Build Work Zone, SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS)
Integration   SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh)
CRM   Salesforce (Sales Cloud / Service Cloud)
Identity   Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
AI & Automation   SAP AI Core / AI Launchpad, RPA, intelligent agents

Responsibilities

1. SAP BTP & Integration Suite

  • Design, configure, and maintain SAP Integration Suite as the backbone of enterprise integrations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Manage the full SAP BTP architecture: subaccounts, entitlements, Cloud Foundry/Kyma environments, destinations, and connectivity with S/4HANA Public Cloud and third-party platforms.
  • Continuously review and improve existing integrations, addressing performance bottlenecks, error handling, and overall reliability of integration flows.
  • Manage SAP IAS/IPS configurations: identity providers, authentication policies, trust setups, and certificate lifecycle (SSL/TLS, OAuth, keystores) across BTP and Integration Suite.
  • Support the federation between SAP IAS and Azure Active Directory, including SAML/OIDC identity flow mapping and SSO configurations for end users.

2. Functional Support & Incident Resolution

  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve day-to-day incidents across Ariba, Concur, BTP, and SuccessFactors, including payment errors, bank statement uploads, and approval workflow failures.
  • Manage connectivity incidents between SAP and external systems, providing support on SAP Multi-Bank Connectivity and cross-system integration failures.
  • Handle configuration adjustments such as threshold updates, workflow step additions, and changes to existing integration flows following a structured change process.
  • Resolve master data errors affecting G/L accounts, materials, vendors, customers, and cost centers, coordinating with functional teams when needed.
  • Apply a controlled change methodology on every intervention: analysis, testing in non-production, functional validation, and controlled transport to production.

3. Role & Identity Governance

  • Participate in the review, adjustment, and documentation of SAP roles and authorizations across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and BTP, ensuring least-privilege compliance.
  • Coordinate with HR and IT Security on offboarding processes, ensuring timely revocation of access across SAP, Salesforce, and Azure AD.
  • Support internal controls implementation including role reviews, segregation of duties checks, and audit trail analysis to meet compliance requirements.

4. Technical Automation & AI

  • Design and implement automation solutions using SAP BTP and Integration Suite to reduce manual effort in recurring tasks across Finance, HR, and Procurement.
  • Explore and deploy AI capabilities through SAP AI Core, including intelligent agents and RPA workflows applied to real business processes.
  • Support CI/CD practices on BTP through pipeline configuration, transport automation, and standardization of the integration development lifecycle.
  • Stay current on SAP automation and AI tooling — including SAP Joule and SAP Build Process Automation — and propose use cases with measurable business value.

5. Collaboration & Documentation

  • Act as the technical reference for Digital teams, Business Partners, and external implementation partners on integration design, platform capabilities, and best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation: integration catalog, operational runbooks, architecture decision records, and configuration guides.
  • Work closely with the internal SAP and Salesforce specialist team and external AMS providers, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity of operations.
  • Report to the IT Manager on operational KPIs, incident trends, project status, and technical debt reduction initiatives.

Job Requirements

Must-Have

  • Solid experience (5+ years) as an SAP technical consultant or SAP integration specialist in Cloud environments (S/4HANA Public Cloud and/or LoB modules).
  • Deep knowledge of SAP BTP: subaccounts, entitlements, Cloud Foundry/Kyma, destinations, connectivity, IAS/IPS.
  • Strong command of SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration, API Management) and integration patterns (sync/async, REST/OData/SOAP).
  • Experience in SAP functional support post-go-live: incident resolution, transport management, and controlled change methodology.
  • Experience with approval workflows, master data, and connectivity between SAP and external systems.
  • Advanced English level (B2+); native or fluent Spanish required.
  • Ability to think in terms of standardization, automation, and technical debt reduction.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with SAP AI Core, SAP Joule, or RPA applied to process automation.
  • Experience with SAP Build (Apps, Process Automation, Work Zone).
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Entra ID: SAML/OIDC federation and identity management.
  • Salesforce administration experience (profiles, permission sets, SSO).
  • Knowledge of SAP Multi-Bank Connectivity.
  • Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • SAP certifications in BTP, Integration Suite, or Technology Associate.
  • Previous experience in the industrial, energy, or renewables sector.

Personal Profile: We are looking for a proactive and results-driven professional with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Someone organized in change management, capable of investigating complex problems down to the root cause. With the judgment to prioritize, the autonomy to work in complex environments, and the ability to coordinate with functional, technical, and business teams. Equally comfortable configuring a complex integration and resolving a critical incident.

What we offer

  • Career opportunities and professional development in a growing multinational company with a team highly qualified.
  • Permanent contract.
  • Full working day.
  • Hybrid work model.
