Controlling Specialist Chile (Temporary Contract)

Mission
At Zelestra, we are looking for an Accounting & Controlling Specialist to lead the accounting and financial management in Chile, combining a strong technical foundation with direct and active involvement in operational execution (hands-on profile).
The mission of this role is to ensure proper compliance with local accounting, financial, and tax regulations, aligned with corporate standards, while also driving a modern, analytical, and data-driven approach—actively contributing to business decision-making and the continuous improvement of financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Directly execute and lead monthly accounting closings, adjustments, variance analysis, and key bank reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements firsthand, ensuring consistency, quality, and traceability of information.
- Supervise and analyze local accounting and financial operations, identifying risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and coordinate local and corporate reporting, delivering clear, timely, and management-oriented information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial results, costs, and margins (including EPC contracts).
- Ensure compliance with Peruvian accounting and tax regulations across all financial activities.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits at the local level, acting as the main point of contact and being responsible for the information provided.
- Prepare and coordinate local regulatory reports, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Identify, design, and implement improvements in accounting and financial processes, with a focus on efficiency, internal control, and scalability.
- Actively drive automation, standardization, and data usage, reducing manual tasks and strengthening financial analysis.
- Coordinate with internal areas (Legal, Tax, AMS, O&M, Project Finance) and external advisors for comprehensive financial management.
Job Requirements
- Professional degree in Accounting/Auditing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial roles with similar responsibilities.
- Proven experience in hands-on roles, directly involved in accounting closings, reporting, and audits.
- Experience in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering, or utilities.
- Experience working with corporate reporting and in demanding environments.
- Experience in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of Chilean tax legislation (SII).
- Proficiency in ERP (SAP) and accounting systems, ideally in process improvement or automation contexts.
- Strong financial and data analysis skills to support business management.
- Intermediate English (desirable).
- Availability to work with us through a temporary services company for a period of 6 months.
