Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for a Market Operations Specialist Latam, based in our Santiago office. The main mission of this role will be to lead actions that maximize the value of the region’s assets by identifying opportunities and proposing concrete action plans in coordination with the relevant internal areas. The role will contribute to executive team decision-making and to increasing the company’s commercial margin. In addition, the person will be responsible for responding to authority/regulator requirements in a timely and proper manner, in accordance with current regulations, and for raising alerts regarding any impediments. All of the above must be carried out in line with quality, compliance, occupational health & safety standards, and the fulfillment of social, environmental, and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and prepare reports on the operation of the electrical system and related events, identifying risks and opportunities to incorporate them into operational action plans, while responding to requests from relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and propose improvements to the commercial operation of assets — including commercial, technical, and market variables — with a focus on increasing commercial margin.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the generation forecast by defining generation offer and pricing strategies to maximize the commercial margin revenue of the assets.
  • Review and validate reports required by authorities/regulators, internal areas, shareholders, and other stakeholders, including failures, events, unavailabilities, and technical reports, among others.
  • Advise the leadership team and the Operations area on changes to current technical regulations in each country, assessing their impact on Zelestra Latam’s operational management and proposing mitigation actions when appropriate.
  • Support the Operations team to ensure that the control centers of Zelestra’s plants — solar and BESS — operate correctly and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in events, forums, and training spaces related to regulatory changes that may impact the management of the role.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with key internal stakeholders, incorporating their perspectives into the analyses carried out within the role.
  • Maintain a fluid and assertive relationship with authorities/regulators and other relevant external stakeholders for the commercial operation of Zelestra’s assets in the region.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in roles related to the processes of the National Electricity Coordinator, such as AMS, Market Operations, Short-Term Market, or Operations Analysis.
  • At least 4 years of experience in renewable energy generation companies and/or regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to the operation of power plants in Peru and Colombia is desirable.
  • Failure analysis and operational event analysis are required.
  • Knowledge of quality, safety, and electrical system operation is required.
