Permitting Specialist Perú

Mission
Zelestra is looking for a Permitting Specialist to focus on the comprehensive management of permits for our projects in execution and operation, located in different regions of the country. The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with regulatory, social, and environmental obligations, in accordance with corporate guidelines, current regulations, IFC standards, and country principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the permitting management of projects under execution and operation, in coordination with the Permitting Manager and assigned consultants.
- Identify permitting execution strategies to minimize risks and optimize approval timelines.
- Verify infrastructure specifications through site visits, ensuring permits are updated and managed with accurate information.
- In coordination with involved areas, manage the hiring process of specialized consultants, as well as the preparation and/or review of DIA (Environmental Impact Declarations), EIA (Environmental Impact Assessments), and/or environmental pertinence reports at all stages, including but not limited to baseline studies, citizen participation, stakeholder engagement, PAS, addenda, among others, until the respective permits are obtained.
- In coordination with involved areas, manage the hiring of specialized consultants to ensure compliance with IFC standards and Peru country principles, and to close any identified gaps.
- Maintain relationships with contractors, overseeing compliance with environmental obligations.
- Maintain fluid communication with the project team regarding critical information, commitments, stakeholder engagement, and other relevant aspects of environmental management, supporting the environmental team during construction and operation phases, including direct field support when required.
- Manage contracts with consultants and specialized legal advisors providing services to the environmental area.
- Prepare management reports as required.
Job Requirements
- Professional degree in Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in similar roles, in utility-scale renewable energy projects processed through the Environmental Evaluation Service.
- Experience in permitting processes with entities such as MINEM, SBN, MINCUL, among others.
- Intermediate level of English.
