Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for an Operations Technician based in Moquegua, Peru, for our Moquegua/Panamericana photovoltaic plants. The role’s mission will be to perform preventive and corrective maintenance at the plants, with a focus on optimizing availability and performance, ensuring compliance with scheduled maintenance plans and monthly and annual operational KPIs, in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety standards, internal guidelines and applicable procedures.

The position will also be responsible for performing preventive, predictive and/or corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including inverters, tracking systems, protection relays, trackers and combiner boxes, among others. This includes preparing maintenance reports for the solar plants and electrical substation while maintaining effective communication with the client. All of this requires a high level of awareness of the risks present at the plants, how to prevent them and how to respond to incidents, in accordance with applicable regulations, internal protocols, and H&S, Quality, Compliance and other relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise maintenance activities, actively contributing to fault resolution through technical analysis.
• Carry out all necessary actions to ensure the high availability and reliability of the power plant’s equipment.
• Prioritize and validate the performance of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities based on their operational impact.
• Analyze performance indicators, including PR, availability and losses, and identify opportunities to optimize power generation.
• Identify, analyze and manage faults, including root cause analysis, ensuring their timely resolution.
• Report critical operational events in real time to the Remote Operations Center (ROC), the client and the work team, ensuring traceability.
• Operate the plant in accordance with O&M procedures and the system operator’s requirements.
• Maintain constant coordination with the ROC and perform equipment interventions in coordination with the operation and dispatch control centers, in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Comply with all regulations and procedures related to Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health and Safety.
• Support the review and management of warehouse supplies, inventory control and critical spare parts planning.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly operational and performance reports, both in report format and using the FRACTTAL system.
• Comply with the Company’s safety and environmental policies.

Job Requirements

• Post-secondary technical degree in Electricity, Electronics or Mechanics.
• Knowledge of communication systems, SCADA and video surveillance systems.
• At least three years of experience in operations and maintenance activities at solar power plants.
• Knowledge of SCADA, relay configuration software and other relevant tools.
• Availability to work on a shift-based schedule.
• Intermediate proficiency in office productivity software.
