EPC Project Engineer

Mission

Ensure technical support to cross-functional teams and coordinate the development and optimization of preliminary designs and detailed engineering for projects under construction

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other company departments on engineering-related matters.

  • Create, read, understand, and review project documentation, from high-level design documents to detailed system designs.

  • Support basic and detailed engineering activities, including technical assistance for construction planning and design, as well as resolving and documenting design conflicts.

  • Manage daily administrative tasks on client platforms, including documentation, notifications, and related activities.

  • Represent the company, project, and/or department in project management meetings, translating client requirements into practical solutions that can be implemented by the project team.

  • Maintain project schedules by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving technical issues related to networks and telecommunications.

  • Monitor project plans by reviewing designs, specifications, schedules, and planning changes; recommend corrective actions. Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project information and trends.

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Provide engineering support to other company departments when required.

  • Ensure the successful execution of the different engineering phases throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Define and update engineering work processes, as well as manage the engineering change process.

  • Monitor ongoing projects, ensuring compliance with schedules and quality standards.

  • Attend management and cross-functional meetings, as well as organize and lead departmental meetings.

  • Participate in improvement task forces and problem-solving groups as part of continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence activities across operating plants.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, as well as health and safety, quality, and environmental requirements throughout project design.

  • Act as the Technical Site Manager during construction activities (site travel required).

  • Conduct periodic site inspections to verify compliance with project design requirements (site travel required).

  • Ensure the quality of engineering deliverables.

  • Coordinate and communicate with other engineering disciplines involved in the project.

  • Lead the review of engineering designs subcontracted to third parties, coordinating with subcontractors through meetings, field visits, and technical discussions.

Job Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering.

  • English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.

  • Knowledge of photovoltaic plants, transmission/interconnection lines, and substations.

  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

  • Proficiency in design and simulation software such as PVsyst, PVcase, and AutoCAD.

  • Experience using document management platforms such as Aconex or similar.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and their application in engineering and project management.
