Position Snapshot
The Vice President of Asset Management shall be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial performance of Zelestra’s portfolio of renewable energy assets, including utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The position will oversee all aspects of asset management throughout the operational lifecycle, ensuring projects achieve maximum availability, reliability, compliance, and financial performance while supporting the long-term growth objectives of the company.
The Vice President of Asset Management will lead cross-functional coordination among Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Engineering, Finance, Legal, Tax, Insurance, Commercial Management, and Executive Leadership teams to optimize asset performance and protect shareholder value.
This role will also drive the implementation and utilization of advanced digital and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to optimize plant operations, predictive maintenance, asset performance analytics, energy forecasting, outage reduction, and operational decision-making across the portfolio.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Energy Management, or related field required
- 15+ years of experience in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, or utility asset management.
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing operational renewable energy assets.
- Significant experience managing utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage assets.
- Strong background in renewable energy construction, including project execution, commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management.
- Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day O&M activities and third-party service providers.
- Extensive experience with debt compliance, tax equity structures, lender relations, and investor reporting.
- Proven experience negotiating and administering major commercial agreements and operational contracts.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and utility/interconnection requirements.
- Experience with dispute resolution, insurance claims management, and risk mitigation.
- Experience managing operational budgets, forecasting, accounting coordination, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing AI-enabled technologies and digital solutions to optimize renewable plant operations and maintenance.
- Experience with operational analytics platforms, SCADA systems, CMMS systems, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing multiple assets simultaneously.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CFA, or similar credentials are a plus.
Position Responsibility
- Lead asset management for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage assets.
- Oversee performance, reliability, availability, budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and production optimization.
- Manage O&M providers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and technical service providers.
- Support construction-to-operations handoffs, warranties, closeout, and readiness.
- Implement maintenance, outage prevention, and operational best practices.
- Drive improvements in efficiency, uptime, safety, and financial performance.
- Lead AI-enabled analytics, SCADA tools, predictive monitoring, and digital optimization.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and IT to improve data integration, automation, and visibility.
- Negotiate and manage key operational, commercial, land, insurance, and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with permits, environmental rules, utility, ISO/RTO, NERC, and local requirements.
- Manage disputes, insurance claims, risk assessments, tax matters, and governance requirements.
- Support M&A due diligence, integration, acquisitions, divestitures, and asset transitions.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing asset management team.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $195,000 - $225,000 annually.Actual pay may vary depending on job-related factors, such as the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
